SnapNote - Quick Web Notes is a browser extension that helps users capture, save, organize, and retrieve useful information while browsing the web.
This Privacy Policy explains what information SnapNote accesses, how that information is used, and how it is stored.
SnapNote allows users to save different types of content while browsing, including:
This information is handled only to provide the features of the SnapNote extension.
SnapNote is designed with a local-first approach.
Your saved screenshots, images, text, links, webpages, notes, voice notes, and related metadata are stored locally in your browser using browser storage technologies such as IndexedDB.
Your saved content is not uploaded to a SnapNote server or cloud storage as part of the normal saving workflow.
SnapNote does not require you to create an account to use its core features.
SnapNote does not require your name, email address, password, payment information, or social media account for normal use.
SnapNote does not use third-party analytics or tracking services to monitor your browsing activity.
SnapNote does not sell your browsing information or saved content.
SnapNote may access information from the webpage you are currently viewing when you explicitly use features that require webpage access.
This may include actions such as:
SnapNote uses this access only to perform the feature requested by the user.
SnapNote requests browser permissions that are required to provide its functionality.
Used to access the currently active webpage when the user performs actions such as screenshot capture, custom area capture, saving a webpage, or saving content from the current tab.
Used to provide right-click options for saving selected text, links, and webpages.
Used to store extension settings and user preferences.
Used to store user-created screenshots, images, notes, saved text, links, and other captured content locally without the standard extension storage quota.
Used when SnapNote needs to interact with the current webpage for capture and content-saving features.
Used when the user chooses to paste copied text or images into SnapNote notes.
Used to access information such as the active tab's title and URL when saving webpages, links, screenshots, and other captured content.
Information handled by SnapNote is used to provide features such as:
SnapNote does not use your saved content for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
SnapNote does not sell, rent, or share your saved content or browsing information with third parties.
Your locally stored content is not transmitted to SnapNote's developer or a third-party cloud service as part of the normal saving workflow.
SnapNote keeps saved content within your browser's local storage environment.
Because the data is stored locally, users should also protect access to their browser and computer. Anyone who has access to your browser profile or computer may potentially be able to access locally stored extension data.
SnapNote provides import and export functionality so users can manage and back up their saved content.
Exported files are controlled by the user. If an exported SnapNote file is shared with another person or service, that information may become accessible to whoever receives the file.
Users can manage and delete saved content through the SnapNote interface.
Users should export any content they want to keep before uninstalling the extension.
SnapNote does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
SnapNote does not require an account and does not intentionally collect personal information from users.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to SnapNote's features or data practices.
Any updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or SnapNote's privacy practices, please contact the developer through the SnapNote project repository.
